This Saturday David Lloyd, Speke hosted the qualifying matches for the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament taking place from 21st to 24th June in Calderstones Park. We are proud to have attracted fantastic talent from around the globe with two players from Ghana, one player from Czech Republic as well as plenty of home grown local talent.
Throughout the qualification all players showed great ambition and determination, all hoping to make it through to compete at the main event this week. After many tough matches the qualifying finalists are Albert Arthur and David O’Leary.
Albert has represented his country (Ghana) for the Davis Cup, while David is currently on tennis scholarship at Memphis University (USA). The two finalists will compete for a place in the tournament on School´s day, Wednesday 20th June, in front of 1500 primary school children and their teachers.
