The Children’s day takes place on Wednesday 20th June in Calderstones Park and will introduce up to 1500 primary school pupils to tennis through free clinics organised by Northern Vision. Former British tennis player and local boy Barry Cowan, the ambassador of the school´s event, replaces Nick Bollettieri who has unfortunately had to pull out due to contracting double pneumonia. We are pleased to hear after spending 4 days in hospital Nick is on the mend and everyone at Northern Vision wishes him a speedy full recovery.
Schools will gather at 09:30 in Calderstones Park for registration before the activities commence on centre court at 10:00. Children will be given an introduction to Tennis and will watch demonstrations led by Barry Cowan. Later on, the schools will get to see the qualification finals and participate further free coaching sessions on the practice courts.
The school day is now fully booked however there are still further general admission tickets available for Thursday and Friday, 21st and 22nd June with more than 50% discount for pupils. A school ticket costs £6 pounds and we are also offering 1 free adult ticket for every 10 children.
