One of the world’s brightest young tennis stars is heading to Liverpool.
Ivan Ivanov, currently ranked #7 in the world in the ITF junior rankings, will prepare for Junior Wimbledon on our courts. The 16-year-old Bulgarian has been described as “a generational talent” and trains at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca.
Toni Nadal said Ivan’s forehand could become “one of the biggest in the business.”
This season, Ivan has made waves on the pro and junior circuits – reaching the final of M15 Sofia and posting strong results at J300 Bytom and Beaulieu sur Mer.
Tournament founder Anders Borg said, “We’re so pleased Ivan is preparing for Wimbledon here in Liverpool. He reminds me a little of a certain Novak Djokovic, who came to Liverpool as a 16-year-old at the start of his career.”
