The two parties have been swapping record-breaking shots since the summer of 2013.
The mum of former Wimbledon champion Andy, Judy Murray, claimed the world record for coaching children when she led 406 youngsters in a coaching session in New York in 2013.
The Liverpool team reclaimed the record the following summer when Barry Cowan helped coach 680 schoolkids in a mammoth single session at Calderstones Park.
Judy hit back with a magnificent return, coaching 770 youngsters in a London lesson.
But now the magic number is 803 – the number of schoolchildren coached at Liverpool Cricket Club last summer to reclaim the record!
Are we heading for a tiebreak?
Organiser of the Liverpool International, Anders Borg, said: “The record is ours for keeps.
“If Judy takes it back we’ll simply go again. Being the best in the world is very important to us!
“I feel it’s a great thing for everyone involved with our event and for sport in Liverpool in general.”
The record attempt took place last summer, but hs only just been ratified by the Guinness Boook of records who stated: “The largest tennis lesson consists of 803 participants and was achieved by Northern Vision (UK), in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK, on 17 June 2015.”
The record was set by pupils from more than 20 schools from across Liverpool, Wirral, Bolton, Chester, Bolton and Manchester.
