Venue History

Aigburth Cricket Ground is the home of Liverpool Cricket & Sports Club. Founded in 1807, it’s the oldest amateur sports club in Merseyside.

The ground, designed by Thomas Harnett Harrison and built in 1880, boasts the oldest pavilion in first-class cricket.

In 2023, it was granted Grade II listed status to recognise its exceptional architectural features and significant place in the history of cricket and sporting events in the North West.

The club offers excellent cricket, squash, tennis, hockey, bowls, lacrosse, and rugby facilities for members. In addition to sports, Aigburth Cricket Ground offers three popular function rooms for year-round hire.

The Liverpool International Tennis Tournament is proud to call this beautiful venue home.
