On the first day of the Williams BMW Liverpool International 2019 the Estonian sensation Kaia Kanepi cruised through her first round singles match against British qualifier Rhona Cook 6-0 6-1 under glorious sunshine.
We also saw crowd favourite Robert Kendrick fight back from a 5-1 deficit to eventually overpower the Wirral’s Adam Jones in a closely fought match 7-6 6-3.
Also joining the field this year is Paolo Lorenzi, an Italian former top-10 player who featured in a mixed doubles exhibition match pairing up with compatriot Corinna Dentoni against Robert Kendrick and Kaia Kanepi.
