The South African number one beat his opponent Lukas Lacko in 3 set match which went to tie break in the third set at Calderstones Park earlier today during Men’s Finals Day.
Anderson, who currently has a world ranking of 30, beat the Slovak 3:6, 6:1, 7:10.
He said, “I am delighted to have won to the Liverpool International title. It’s been a great event, a great warm up for Wimbledon next week, and I’ve really enjoyed myself here.”
Anders Borg added, “A huge congratulations to Anderson on picking up this year’s men’s title today, as well as to Bencic who won the women’s title yesterday.
“Despite difficult weather conditions, there’s been some excellent play and both Anderson and Bencic will definitely be ones to watch now as they go on to compete at Wimbledon and in the London 2012 Olympic Games in a few weeks times.”
