Jodie Burrage beat Pippa Car 6-1 7-5 to win The Qualifying event at The Liverpool Hope University International Tennis Tournament at Liverpool Cricket Club. Jodie will now play current Wimbledon winner Marion Bartoli in a round robin event starting on Thursday 19th of June.
“I am so excited to play her, it makes me a bit nervous though, it will be a great experience for me” says Jodie.
Jodie has just turned 15 and is one of the many up and coming British female players. Tournament Director Anders Borg says “Jodie has the potential to go very far, we have over the years had Azarenka and Wozniacki playing in the International at the same age and she has many of the same qualities as both of them.
Tickets are available at the box office in the Cricket club from
1000 to 1800 each day.
