Kenyon Fraser, Liverpool’s largest and longest established marketing communications agency, has just been appointed to handle the marketing and PR for Northern Vision’s Liverpool International Tennis Tournament 2012.
The agency will support Northern Vision in the run up to next summer’s tournament which is to be hosted at Calderstones Park from 21 – 25 June.
The Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, now in its tenth year, is one of Merseyside’s most popular annual sporting events, drawing over 20,000 spectators each year from all over the UK.
As one of the region’s largest annual sporting events – second only to Aintree’s Grand National in terms of the revenue it attracts through corporate hospitality and inward investment. Last year it attracted an additional £1m of revenue into Liverpool’s visitor economy over the five day tournament, as well as more than 500,000 unique hits on the website from around the globe.
But organisers are already anticipating a significant increase on ticket sales and greater visitor numbers for 2012 as the prestigious tournament acts as an official warm up to the Olympics Games.
Tournament Director, Anders Borg says “Each year we are joined by some of the world’s biggest tennis and rising stars who use the tournament as a warm up event for Wimbledon – but 2012 will be our biggest and most important year yet, with many of our athletes going on to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
“The Olympics will undoubtedly create increased interest in sports next year, and we really want to help ensure that the Olympics do not just become a London-centric event and that people from all over the UK are able to fully embrace ‘Olympic Fever’ at events that are affordable and in their local area. We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Kenyon Fraser during such an important year.”
Richard Kenyon, Managing Director at Kenyon Fraser says, “This is a very exciting appointment for Kenyon Fraser. Northern Vision and the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament are a great fit for our team as we have a real wealth of expertise in marketing within the sports and leisure industries, as well as in the promotion of healthy lifestyles.”
Earlier this year Kenyon Fraser also supported Aintree Racecourse and the John Smith’s Grand National which achieved its first sell-out year in almost thirty years.
Kenyon Fraser is one of the largest and most established fully integrated marketing communications consultancies outside London, and has been running for 21 years.
