Liverpool International Tennis Tournament always starts with the “Kids only Day” the day before the main draw play kicks off. Every year up to 5000 children from regional primary schools are invited to have a full tennis experience, from receiving tennis clinics to watching the qualifying finals. A day full with activities for kids between 7 and 12 which makes the tournament one of a kind and has introduced in such way more than 60 000 kids to tennis over the last 14 years.
For 2018 we are offering the opportunity for school groups of any age and experience to enjoy a day out at the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.
There’s ‘Kids Day’ on Wednesday 20 June and ‘Tickets & Tennis Day’ on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 June 2018.
All events are organised by the Liverpool Tennis Foundation in partnership with Northern Vision. This major grassroots initiative started in 2002 and is aimed at making tennis more accessible to all children in Liverpool, and throughout the North West. Since the start, thousands of children have been inspired to watch and play tennis. The team are still the current Guinness World Record holders for hosting the largest ever tennis lesson with children at the event in 2015.
On Kids Day there is no limit to the numbers of children who can attend per school.
The cost of each child place is only £5. Teachers and support staff are FREE, one per ten children, and are encouraged to participate fully in all activities.
Kids Day starts at 10am with a 1-hour tennis lesson led by our tennis coaching team. After the tennis lesson, there will be other sports activities for example, hockey, football, lacrosse and cricket led by the Liverpool Cricket Club multi-sports coaching team, and the opportunity to watch live tennis on court featuring the tournament qualifying matches. The day concludes by approx. 2pm.
On Thursday 21 June and Friday 22 June, we are hosting the Tickets & Tennis Days, which include a 1-hour tennis lesson starting at 11am, and tickets to the main tournament from 1pm to approx. 5.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 per child. Teachers and support staff are FREE, one per ten children. There is also an option for Tickets Only for £7.50 per child and child U16 weekend tickets which are one FREE per two paying adults.
If you would like to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and complete the booking form given.
Once you have confirmed your attendance, we will confirm your places by letter and in May 2018 you will receive a detailed programme that sets out the activity times and court watching times allocated to your group.
Our Risk Assessment (safeguarding measures) will also be included with the booking confirmation letter.
For all tennis activities, we need as many participants as possible to bring a tennis racquet (adults and children). There will be some tennis racquets available, but we can’t guarantee one per child. All other sports equipment will be provided. Please ensure all children bring a packed lunch and wear appropriate sports clothing.
Please be aware that during the lesson and play on court, we will be taking photographs and filming activities. Other media parties may cover the event for publication in the media.
The school must make its own travel arrangements and the group needs to be at the Liverpool Cricket Club by 10:00am on Kids Day or 11am on Tickets & Tennis Days.
Liverpool Cricket Club is our new venue: Aigburth Road, Liverpool L19 3QF
Further information about the exact timings and programme will be sent to you via email once signed up.
We look forward to your school being involved.
