Lorenzi & Kanepi are the new Liverpool Champions

Kaia Kanepi of Estonia and Pablo Lorenzi of Italy got a perfect start to their grass court season by winning the 18th edition of the Williams BMW Liverpool International Tennis Tournament on Sunday.

Kaia is an outsider for the Wimbledon title in the wide open women’s field whilst Pablo, at the age of 37, will be the oldest player in the main, draw but is still enjoying his tennis more than ever.

Lorenzi beat Liverpool tournament veteran Robert Kendrick of the USA 7-6 (3), 6-2 and didn’t lose a set throughout the four days of tennis on the banks of the River Mersey.

Kanepi defeated last year’s Liverpool champion Corinna Dentoni 6-2, 6-2.

Paulo Lorenzi (ITA) beat Robert Kendrick (USA) 7-6 (3), 6-2
