Richard Krajicek is happy to be back in Liverpool.
Returning to Liverpool for the second year in a row, former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek from the Netherlands is happy to return to Merseyside. Krajicek who famously won Wimbledon in 1996 in a memorable final against MaliVai Washington will be featuring in the Legends´ single and mixed doubles matches on Thursday playing with and against Martina Navratilova, Martina Hingis and former British No. 1 Greg Rusedski.
On Friday the Dutch man will play against Greg Rusedski in a single match and is one of three former Wimbledon winners to perform at this year´s tournament.
“I have had a great time when I was playing in Liverpool last year, so I am more than happy to get the chance to come back”, Krajicek, who first appeared at the event which is in its tenth year in 2004. “It’s a fantastic achievement for this unique event and everybody involved has done a brilliant job to stage such a big tennis tournament in a public park”.
Besides his famous Wimbledon victory, Krajicek has also won seventeen titles on the ATP tour, including the prestigious tournament in Rotterdam of which he is now Tournament Director.
